RISE Ministries founder Rob Rozeboom was diagnosed with a debilitating degenerative disease (severe muscular dystrophy) at age 5, but, through Christ, his family, and a lot of perseverance, he has learned to "enjoy the journey", and see God at work through whatever life throws his way. This podcast includes great interviews with guests who have also had struggles in their lives, but have learned to "enjoy the journey", and praise God through it all. It's also a great way for Rob and the RISE Ministries team to speak more directly to listeners, and we're so happy you're joining us!

Right after RiseFest 2021 Lauren was diagnosed with breast cancer. She shares about what that journey looked like for her and where she is now. Lauren shares some good tips for people who know someone going through a cancer diagnosis and for those on their own cancer journey. Lauren shares with joy, transparency, conviction, truth, and clarity. Her deep faith and trust in Jesus is truly inspiring and encouraging.     Episode 40: Lydia Miller

    On this episode of Enjoying the Journey, we get to chat with Lydia Miller, Pastor of Creative Arts at Sunnybrook Church in Sioux City. Lydia grew up as a pastor's kid, loves the Church, loves God, loves His people, and is a pastor at the church she grew up at. With all the stories of pastor's kids leaving the church and/or their faith, Lydia's journey is a breath of fresh air and so encouraging! Lydia is a joy to talk to and we can't wait for you to listen! Lydia has been on staff at Sunnybrook Church for 5 years. After moving to Sioux City with her family in 8th grade, she grew up through Sunnybrook’s student ministries. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa and began her teaching career at Waukee Middle School. After four years of teaching, she felt God calling her back to Sioux City, to Sunnybrook, and into ministry, and she began working in student ministry. Now, Lydia oversees all of Family Ministry, as well as the Creative Arts Ministry. She and her husband Trent have two young boys.

On today's podcast, we got to sit down with our friend, Heather Kittelson for a sweet IN-PERSON interview! Heather is a wife, mom of four, the Foundation Director for Volunteers Of America, and the Founder/Owner of Redemption Artistry. We're tackling some real world issues today, as Heather shares her story about overcoming abuse and alcoholism, and how God redeemed and saved her life (literally)! These things aren't always easy to bring up with the people around you, but they are things that more of us deal with than we realize, and we're so blessed that Heather is willing to be so transparent about them, as we should all try to be! Transparency creates real relationships, as we should want with each other, and with Jesus, who already sees and loves us for who we are. You are AWESOME, thanks so much for listening!!!
