The Science Patrol

I am a recent arrival in the Land of Light. I’ve been a Sentai and Kamen Rider fan for a while, but never could pull the trigger on Ultraman. Much like Doctor Who, the history and backstory was daunting. Unlike Dr. Who, there is not a lot of English language resource material. However, between the simulcasts of Ultraman Z and the MillCreek blu-rays sets, I figured this was time to take the plunge. I am liking both so far, but felt aimless and alone. I had questions, and no one to ask. I know there are other fans out there, but I have no tolerance for gatekeepers. Then I stumbled across The Science Patrol. Happy freakin’ day! Two guys, one a long-time fan, one a relative newcomer (like me) discussing the current episodes. The banter between Pat and Rich is warm, friendly and authentic. It is like hanging out with a couple of buddies who share the same interests as you. It is a lot of fun. I may have found their podcast late in the game, but I am going back to the beginning to listen to the previous episodes on earlier series. I’m glad to have found such an enjoyable podcast as a source for more information while I continue my journey into Nebula M78!

And that’s not only because I’m personally involved! Decide for yourself. They are a fun listen. Especially if you like watching Ultraman, new and old.

Fantastic podcast. Funny, informative, light hearted, a total joy. A really fun companion to watching Ultraman. These guys are awesome.

Good chemistry between the hosts. Knowledgeable and fun. Respectful of the all the series. Like going from 1966 to present shows.
