    Episode 42 | October 2024 | Student Rights and Responsibilities: Cell Phone Use and More

    In this episode, the hosts take on a big topic, Students Rights and Responsibilities, and make it understandable in a few words. The hosts tell you: ●       why the Students Rights and Responsibilities, also referred to as SR&R, are important, ●       key points you need to know and ●       how you access the information as well as give your input.   After the hosts give you the general information, they talk about the cell phone policy and the cell phone storage pilot program that’s being tried in some of FCPS middle and high schools.  Podcast Infomercial, which is information delivered as a commercial, is about FCPS telephone support to families who do not speak English as their first language. Parents/caregivers who speak Amharic, Arabic, Chinese, Farsi, Korean, Spanish, Urdu, or Vietnamese may call a telephone information line for general information about FCPS.     In this episode, as you prepare for a successful school year, you are reminded to keep your ParentVUE account on the Student Information System up-to-date. Use it to keep track of your student’s grades, attendance, class schedules and much more. Use the Family Academy website for all things related to families in FCPS.  You can submit questions, explore academic and community programs, register for classes like Early Literacy, Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Children and Family Literacy, and read or subscribe to the latest Family Resource Center newsletter.
