Episode 47– Tim Bunting, The Kiwi Yamabushi Made in Japan-- Conversations with Meljo Catalan

    • Personal Journals

To quote J.R.R. Tolkien, “He loved mountains, or he had loved the thought of them marching on the edge of stories brought from far away…” Meet Tim, a Yamabushi; a Shinto ascetic mountain monk who aims to share the values of what the mountains of Yamagata Prefecture offers. I want to help him open up an ancient custom that he has dedicated his life to. Here is his story and I hope it can be a worthwhile pause from our daily hustle to reflect on.
