Once upon a time two women with vocal chords and a love for glee decided to change the world, one 60 or so minute session a week at a time. Then Glee took a horrible turn and they were left sad and frustrated by the one time juggernaut, musical/comedy/drama/Golden Globe winning THING called glee. So they started discussing other things instead. Mostly musicals, but films with sweet dance moves also and even some that had fast cars. They kept the name though, because it was just easier that way.

    Episode 5.8 - Infinite Santa 8000 & Joyful Noise

    Haul out the holly for a double shot of holiday fun. First up, Erica and Emily head to the future to discuss animation in the post-apocalypse with Infinite Santa 8000. After much merriment with cyborgs and mechanical reindeer, the ladies head to the sunnier south with the surprisingly NON-holiday themed Joyful Noise, starring none other than the Goddess of All Things Ever, Dolly Parton. It's also about Asbergers. And the economy. And heart conditions. In other words, fun for your December!     Episode 5.7 - The Nutcracker 3D

    Chestnuts are roasting and eggnog is toasting on our special holiday edition of GleeKast. Erica and Emily open the studio to special guest star Santa Claus, aka Fozziebare the Great himself. The trio team up to tackle 2009's Nutcracker: The Untold Story, aka The Nutcracker In 3D, aka The Weirdest $90 Million Ever Spent. Join Elle Fanning, Richard E. Grant, John Turturo, and Nathan Lane as they deal with creepy CGI heroes, steampunk decor, Madonna's discarded wardrobe, Andy Warhol haircuts, crying children, dead sharks, singing Albert Einsteins, figure skating, decapitation, original songs (sorta), and a thinly veiled metaphor for Holocaust gas chambers.     Episode 5.5 - Cannibal! The Musical

    Hop on your finest horse and join us for a very shbadoinkle episode as Erica and Emily tackle Trey Parker's 1993 horror/musical/comedy Cannibal! The Musical. Much is discussed about Erica's history with the South Park crew, as well as Emily's inability to just BUILD a snowman unless it can be done to the music from this movie.     There is no future. There is no past. Unless you're Erica and remember EVERYTHING about the stage production of Rent and how it differs from Chris Columbus' 2005 film adaptation. The ladies have a passionate discussion about the original show, disappointing film, and 2008 video recording of the final Broadway performance. Expect to feel very, very old.     Episode 5.3 - Jesus Christ Superstar

    It’s a two for one sale on this installment of GleeKast as Erica and Emily tackle two versions of Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar. First up is Norman Jewison’s 1973 film adaptation (available on Netflix Instant), followed by the 2000 London video recording of the stage show (free on YouTube).     Episode 5.2 - Repo! The Genetic Opera

    Shoot up your zydrate (it comes in a little glass vial) and put on your prettiest detachable face as Erica and Emily plunge into the future with 2008’s horror musical, Repo! Between Paris Hilton’s surprising acting chops and Paul Sorvino’s operatic tenor, it’s something very, very different. We also have quite a history with the show, so expect some personal anecdotes that just might involve the world’s rudest waiter at a fondue restaurant. We’re quite curious how the movie works for you, so be sure to share your thoughts over on our Facebook group. We promise not to pull your organs out. At least, for now.

    Episode 5.1 - Step Up (4) Revolution

    With the Miami heat seeping through Peter Gallagher’s eyebrows, Erica and Emily slip into some baggy pants and high top sneakers for the fourth installment of the ‘80s dance movie craze that has been reborn as Step Up. This time, it’s about a REVOLUTION. And white people romance. But let’s face it: we came here for Moose, and Moose is what we’ve got. This is our first episode with our new non-Glee format, so we hope the joy of dance overrides the mess of Ryan Murphy’s head.
