Episode 5 - Mental Health

Armed Forces Patient and Public Voice Health Podcast

Welcome to Episode 5 of the NHS Armed Forces Health Podcast. This series aims to help you – the Armed Forces community - access the plethora of NHS services available.

Through these episodes we will look at different aspects of healthcare from leaving service to finding a GP, taking care of mental and physical health, and provision for forces families

Today we focus on mental health, and how it inevitably intersects with physical health. Not all veterans will suffer with mental ill health relating to service - you do not need to have served to face mental challenges - and so in this episode we cover everything from PTSD to anxiety and stress.

In today’s episode the host Alice Knight - Driver is joined by: Dr Dan Barnard, Doctor in Clinical Psychology and Specialist in Complex PTSD - clinical lead for NHS Veterans Mental Health Service; Tom Fox, Director at Thoughtify Mental Health Training; and Jo Jukes, Mental Health advocate for suicide prevention.
