    • Society & Culture

In 1975, Anna Elisabeth Michel underwent her first exorcism. She was hearing voices, became violently intolerant of religious iconography and was contorting herself into unnatural, painful positions. Supposedly possessed by the spirits of six demons, she would undertake a further 66 exorcisms.

Ten months later, at the age of 23, she was dead.

Join us this week as Sarah delves into the story of Anneliese Michel, whose death went on to inspire the hit film The Exorcism of Emily Rose.
