Episode 78: Living through my worst fear and healing my vow of invisibility and not good enoughness Money Magic Podcast

    • Mental Health

In this week's #MoneyMagic episode, I share my personal experience of overcoming public shaming, reclaiming my power, and healing my not-good-enough wound.
Back in 2022, I found myself in the midst of public shaming. It was a tough time as embassies worldwide were contacted with false allegations of me being a tourism fraud, and financial services boards were sent letters tarnishing my reputation as a scam. The impact on my mental health and business was far more significant than I anticipated.
The aftermath led to months of legal battles, protection orders, and I am still waiting for the court's decision. As if that wasn't enough, I also had to navigate (still am navigating) the complexities of dealing with developers who reneged on their financing contracts in the Property Magicians Stokvel. It has been a challenging time that brought forth self-doubt, feelings of inadequacy, shame and a desire to hide and be invisible.
In the process I found immense support and love from family, friends, and even strangers, which shattered my beliefs about being alone and unloved and led me to truly understanding what it means to trust the process.
In this podcast episode, I delve into the journey of finding solace, seeking support during times of crisis, and prioritizing self-care. I share the practices that helped me regain my balance, including yoga, breathwork, EFT tapping and the #MoneyMagic meditations.
I also share valuable insights on expansion, visibility, and revisiting the basics of the Bank Account Challenge. Despite the chaos, I managed to continue growing Wealthy Money, secure a publishing deal for my upcoming book (launching in October 2023), acquire two pieces of land, get gifted a Birkin bag, launch an Airbnb business, and initiate the rezoning of one of my properties in Cape Town to develop eight units.
Join me in this episode of the #MoneyMagic podcast as I talk about transforming poison into medicine.

Notable Quotes
I've come to the conclusion that no human being actually has a substantial amount of power over another human being
there is a part of us no matter what happens that we can just go in there and find something that can be taken away by another person
I literally looked at a part of myself like I said and was just like there's no way I could live through this and then making the decision that I'm going to live through this anyway
We will never ever be able to control another person that is a fact, but what we can do is look after ourselves when things are going bad
Expansion is being able to hold both the good and the bad, the upside and downside of expansion
One of the biggest breakthroughs was I learned that it doesn't matter what is happening the work works
The big breakthrough is that all my fears were unfounded I've lived my whole life being so scared of being visible being so scared of being publicly criticized because I thought at the end of the day I would lose love and I would be actually alone and I would have absolutely no one by my side and the major breakthrough for me has been I've lived through
