Amazing podcast!

Thank you for being an advocate and educator in the mental health community!

I work at an in-patient psych unit and this helps me understand what my patients are going through and connect with them.

Keep doing what you’re doing (:

I wish there was more ! And more people to follow on this topic

I had a major psychotic episode back when I was 17 (but the episode or accumulation leading to that break down at 17 started at 14 )and I was diagnosed with schizophrenia— and now I’m either in state of “remission “ or stress triggers it and I need to see a dr … so I meditate now . Even though I don’t genuinely believe I have schizophrenia— I do think stress triggers psychosis as my first episode I believe was severe depression that suppressed and never told anyone about due to my mom at the time believing mental illness is a sign of weakness . So this over time caused me to internalize everything and it evolved into a fantasy world that became really evil towards me . Now I get paranoid and delusional at times and sometimes wonder if any of my actions made things worse but beyond all that I want to add to anyone who can relate — I found talk therapy(if you can get it I got mine for free at the time ) / support system / meditation/ medication of course but I really hate it haha not gonna be the first or last one to say that
