The Importance of Seeing Ernest
So what is The Importance of Seeing Ernest? It started as a reoccurring topic on the Drunken Lullabies Podcast and soon became so much more. Three friends decided to embark on a journey that will take them to fond reminders of childhood, as well as some new content they’ve never watched before. We will be sitting down together, watching every Ernest program in chronological order, and then recording a podcast about each show. From local commercials, to Ernest in the Army, of one, that is. This is The Importance of Seeing Ernest, the comprehensive and encyclopedic compendium of all things Ernest. This is good filmmaking, Vern. Feel free to follow along with us, and you too can find out The Importance of Seeing Ernest.
These guys are the cause of my snort laugh

So here’s the thing. If you ever snort laugh, even once, it’s what we call an inelastic event. There’s no snapping back, that’s how you’re now going to laugh for the rest of your life. At that point, forget about going to dainty events where you do things with your pinky sticking out, because you’ll be sternly asked to leave for snort laughing. These guys made me snort laugh. I navigated directly to the Family Album episode, owing to Family Album being one of my most favorite things in the universe, and these guys engaged in a discussion about it that was exceedingly funny. I was resultantly made to laugh in a manner and volume that frightened the house pets, followed by a ragged inhale that we refer to in American English as a snort. Now it won’t go away, and I can say goodbye to engagements where I call people “my good man“ or pretend to consume demitasse. Thanks guys.
Golly Bob Haddy Vern!

We have been Ernest fans for decades. Got much of his punchlines and words of wisdom committed to memory, not to mention stacks of his movies and TV shows. Now that my sons are adults, we are laughing and singing along with your show. We will listen to every one if your episodes, Knowhatimean, Vern!!

As a lifelong Ernest obsessive, this podcast is a true joy. They go DEEP into the Lore of Worrell and I look forward to the evolution of the podcast moving forward into the unmade script ideas. Come for the Ernest, stay for the Scatman John references.
Golly Bob Howdy Vern!

This podcast has rekindled my love for the work of Jim Varney. Growing up I loved his Ernest films and TV spots. Listening along, I find myself laughing out loud as the memories come flooding back. I ordered Ernest’s Greatest hits and a few Ernest double features just so I can revisit and listen along as I go through each episode. So put down your copy of In-a-godda-da-vida (the long version) and boogie on over to that subscribe button. If you only listen to one Ernest P Worrel podcast, make it this one! ............Boogie.
