You Must Remember This

This is actually the first podcast I ever listened to. I’ve listened to so many more now, many of them great, yet YMRT is still my favorite. When I’m having a rough time, this is my go to for relistening. The current rating of 4.6 is laughable. I don’t know what people want from a podcast if not this. The stories. The production values. Her voice. This is the apex, folks.

This is my new favorite podcast. So smart, fun, and educational—with high production value. It is a welcome reprieve from current news/politics. Not that the host shies away from mentioning how the topics covered in various episodes relate to more recent times. I really appreciate the sense of perspective we get from this podcast’s focus on “the secret &/or forgotten histories of Hollywood’s first century.”

ymrt is the collection i’ve heard cited most often as inspiration for other excellent podcasts and i think really says something

Some interesting content, but overall, I don’t really care what some scoldy millennial snit considers “problematic”. The ratio of moralizing to thoughtful analysis is a bit too high here for my tastes. Pass on following this podcast. (Other note: the host has the same weird over-annunciation as the host of Gastropod. Who is it that’s encouraging podcast hosts to speak in this affected way???)
