Exiles: 1 Peter 5:12-14 | Week 21 - James Sharp

The Apostle Peter wrote the letter we call 1 Peter while persecution against Christians was simmering in and around ancient Rome. He wanted his readers to be prepared for hard things to come, and he sought to prepare them by reminding them of their identity as the chosen people of God, living as exiles in a world of suffering.

We conclude our series in 1 Peter looking at 1 Peter 5:12-14.

Signs We Are Drifting from the True Grace of God

1.  A neglect of God’s Word
2. A growing love for worldly things
3. A lukewarm prayer life
4. Accountability and community are forsaken
5. Our sin goes unchecked/unchallenged
6. We rely on external religious practice
