Exploring Racism with Dante King

Exploring Racism: Creating Whiteness from the Roots of Anti-Blackness will explore the motivations that underscored the creation of race; particularly Whiteness, Anti-blackness and the moves that were made to develop the culture we see before our eyes today. The show will explore sets of facts and information that demonstrate how white racial bias has continued to be embedded into many of the laws throughout the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st centuries; established to support and protect white people, while oppressing black and brown people. The larger point being, that the legal system (both the rule of law and enforcement;) is a subjective tool of convenience, created to advance and protect white people socially, politically, economically, educationally, physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually and symbolically; while adversely harming, damaging and denigrating black people (both Africans and African Americans). We will also explore the impacts of white racial bias embedded into the creation and/or development of additional tools working together in concert to establish complex degrees of oppression. The additional tools include but are not limited to education, religion, capitalism and science. It is my hope that sharing and discussing this information will enable people to come together to spark a fierce conversation that will help guide deep understanding of the entrenched system of institutional, structural and systematic anti-blackness and racism all every aspect of our culture.
