Fentanyl was once only prescribed as an end of life medication. It later got in the streets to lace heroin as a cheaper cutting agent and in order to increase its addictive properties. Today it is flooding the streets and causing overdoses nationwide without a clear understanding of its social roots and experiences of those impacted by it but most importantly those that made it out. These are their stories and their experience making it out alive. This is Facing Fentanyl, interviews with actual users, their experiences, but most importantly, the lessons leading them out to a place where they can speak of what it is to be Facing Fentanyl.
