Faith Matters

Faith Matters offers an expansive view of the Restored Gospel, thoughtful exploration of big and sometimes thorny questions, and a platform that encourages deeper engagement with our faith and our world. We focus on the Latter-day Saint (Mormon) tradition, but believe we have much to learn from other traditions and fully embrace those of other beliefs.

The Blessings of a Quirky Ward

I loved this episode and James Goldberg. His insights were really helpful in seeing our church wards in a more gentle light.
Where is God’s Word in this?

After giving this an honest shot and listening to over a dozen episodes, I’ve decided this will only hinder and harm my faith in God. There is so much misinformation thrown around in this podcast. Absolutely no basis in God’s word. No scriptural references ever used. I have had my feelings hurt numerous times at a member of the church. But the foundation of this platform is built on hurt feelings and nothing more. Very shallow.
Wonderful!

Listening to this podcast has changed the way I view my faith and has deepened my quest for insight into my relationship with Deity. I’ve loved every episode and have listened to many of them more than once. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all involved with this wonderful work.
Expanding perspectives

I love the way hosts Tim and Aubrey Chavez are exploring the journey of growing in faith from a more universal, human perspective, including learning from other faith traditions. In The Church of Jesus Christ, we believe that God speaks to all people, yet we sometimes fail to seek out and learn from others. Don’t miss the episode with Mike Petrow.

A counter culture of Love

David French discusses misinformation while spouting disinformation. Specifically claiming millions of angry Trump voters who are too stupid to understand truth. I don’t even like Trump but claiming there is no basis for misuse of the DOJ because there is SOME legal backing is false. Just because there is legal basis doesn’t mean there is equitable distribution of Justice. Hunter for example. Do pundits and government officials lie and exaggerate on both sides? Absolutely. Spouting disinformation and bias under the guise of “the truth” is maddening. Too bad he had no one with an opposing voice. In that case he wouldn’t have taken the interview:)
Critical conversations

Thank you for your vital work pertinent to families today with tugs of differences. It is most important to speak the truth in love. Such valuable ideas to create intimate personal conversations of love and belonging in a family. Loving your family is all we are required to do. Not judging. Not letting fear enter in. God knows god loves. God saves. Let ho let God. He is mighty to save.
