In this insightful episode, we delve into how to support fathers as caregivers for children experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges. Remarkably Resilient Together with Kathleen Harnish McKune & Tim DeWeese

Our guests joining us today in our very first episode are from “Remarkably Resilient Together” – an organization that empowers individuals of all ages to strengthen their resilience by providing techniques for emotional regulation and self-care practices. We’ll also hear about their lived experience – informed by the neuroscience of trauma.  We’ll meet Kathleen Harnish McKune one of three sisters who grew up in a childhood home with multi-generational incest, abuse, and neglect. The Harnish sisters broke that cycle - the neuroscience of trauma helped them see HOW they did that. Their 2019 book, "Remarkably Resilient: Community Matters", shares their journeys. This lived experience is complemented by, Tim DeWeese, Director, Johnson County Mental Health Center, Kansas - one of the non-profit partners working with the Harnish sisters in this community campaign to "Empower individuals with the practices of emotional regulation and self-care". This matters because we are all more resilient humans when we are emotionally regulated with full resilience cups.
