Review That Review with Chelsey and Trey

This is overall a pretty good podcast. The hosts are entertaining, their voices are pleasurable, and the reviews are fun and often informative. It’s clear that a lot of work has gone into making this podcast which I appreciate. For example, the “lodge a complaint” section at the beginning of(where hosts just choose a life complaint they have that is unrelated to the episode) nicely creates a relatable rapport with the listener. This section is then effectively end-capped by a “your royal highness” section at the end where they mention something they enjoy. This succinct beginning and end is a smart and enjoyable way to avoid endless rambling and unfinished Iconclusions that happen too often in other podcasts. The opening song, however, is akin to the sound of rubbing styrofoam. From the lyrics to the voice, it’s like AI decided to be on American Idol season 1 except it’s all AI Justin Guarini and no actual Kelly Clarkson. Seriously whoever sings that should not quit their day job. And while not specific to this podcast, I truly resent the “please pay for an entirely different platform that you don’t know how to use and haven’t downloaded (Patreon) to get more content.” I subscribed to the paid Apple Podcasts subscription, yet didn’t receive even the audible version of their recorded episodes (also FYI to every podcaster - I don’t want to watch two people sit and do a podcast - I want to listen). I also think it could use some editing occasionally. I like when they laugh (and sometimes sing briefly) because it shows their personalities, but sometimes the laughing/singing goes on for 45 seconds and that’s actually WAY too long an WAY too annoying. Singing should be 20 seconds at the absolute max. This is an audible medium and they forget that occasionally. The games - when they occur - are an extra special treat. You would be remiss to not play along and it’s impossible to not feel invested despite their inherent silliness. Overall good job executing and I will keep listening! Xoxo

I have listened to every episode. I miss the Meryl Go Round a little. These queens are the best and I am loving the aftershows too.

Trey and Chelsey have such great chemistry and I feel like I can listen to them all day!
