    Natasha, Jenna and Gip the Realtor vents about "Why I can't take off during blackout dates?" Blackout dates are most common in retail, accounting, sales and marketing companies. During the blackout dates employees cannot take those days as the companies need all employees working during this time. Maaannnn we got to do something different than seniority get to take days off first!! Jenna and Natasha cover the Employment Law from Texas made significant changes effective September 2021 around sexual harassment. Under the new law, the statute of limitations for filing a charge of sexual harassment is increased from 180 days to 300 days from the date of alleged harassment. The expanded limitations period only applies to sexual harassment claims based on conduct that takes place after September 1, 2021. Under the new Section 21.141 of the Texas Labor Code, the sexual harassment protections apply to employers that have one or more employees. With the expanded definition of “employer,” virtually all Texas workplaces are covered by the sexual harassment laws.     Natasha, Jenna and Gip the Realtor vents about "Offensive Shit that happens at Work." There are a lot of things that happen in the workplace that comes off very offensive with things people say or do. We don't discuss these things openly enough so that people understand how to handle us/you in the workplace. Do black people raise red flags when people offend us? Jenna and Natasha covers the Employment Law from Colorado amended the Ban the Box law applying it to all private employers instead of employers with 11 or more employees. Employers can no longer disqualify job applicants with criminal records without first considering their qualifications. Colorado also signed into law"Gender Identity Expression Anti-Discrimination Act." The Act updates Colorado’s nondiscrimination provisions applicable to individuals seeking protection on the basis of “sexual orientation,” including by adding the terms “gender expression” and “gender identity” to 48 areas of state law (e.g., employment, housing, public accommodation) that prohibit discrimination against members of a protected class. Natasha and Jenna discuss, "How to ask for help from your coworkers." It is very conducive to the success of your career to ask people for help. It is very fck'd up that companies do NOT do enough with showing appreciation and commendation to their employees. How would you like to be recognized at work? Jenna and Natasha covers the Employment Law from New Orleans requiring employers to provide accommodations for certain pregnant employees and limiting an employer’s use of an applicant’s criminal history in hiring decisions. Louisiana’s nondiscrimination law protecting “pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions” in employment (La. R.S. 23:341–42), was amended to include a requirement that employers provide reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees. Natasha and Jenna discuss, "How to find the right mentor for you and your next chapter in your career." We all need a Mentor to guide us and provide resources to us in order to get where we're trying to go no matter if it's for your 9to5 or your business.     Natasha, Jenna and Gip the Realtor vents about "Some days I don't want to bothered at work." Companies should start giving out Emotional Time Off along with personal time off and sick time off. Jenna and Natasha covers the Employment Law from Nevada "Prohibiting inquiries regarding a job applicant's employment history to discriminate against potential hires or in promotion decisions for current employees." Employers must provide a wage or salary range to applicants who have completed interviews for positions, and they must provide the wage or salary range or rate in certain cases of a promotion or transfer. Employers may ask applicants about their pay expectations. Allow usage of Nevada also passed a law, that allows employees to use a portion of their accrued sick leave to assist a member of their immediate family who has an illness, injury, or medical need. Natasha and Jenna discuss, "How to fill out New Hire Paperwork." Your first day of work might be a tad bit stressful and the employer drops what feels like hundreds of papers to fill out and some information you may not have on hand. Drug Test Stories!
