    Lowlines

    Lowlines

When you hear the phrase sonic scrapbook, what do you imagine? Lowlines is part travelog, part audio montage and it reminds us to take our connections offline so we can really feel the pulse of the places we go.

This brand new, six episode series follows one woman's call to get low. To move down from her pranged-out head, plant her feet back on the ground and let herself be drawn deep into magnetic places - befriending strangers along the way.

Before we get into the sonic travels, we have a special interview with Petra Barran, the creator and host of Lowlines. Tink Media’s own Shreya Sharma, who you may know from previous episodes and as a writer of Podcast Marketing Magic, joins this episode to interview Petra. As a fellow traveler herself, Shreya speaks with Petra about why she felt the pull to get low and create the show, how she picked the six places she visited, and what it was like to turn all her raw audio into the polished series it is today.

    Build a Prince

    Build a Prince

Today we’re featuring an episode from the podcast Build a Prince, which is basically a Christmas rom-com movie for your ears!
The story follows the fiercely independent Princess Adelaide as she discovers she MUST be married by Christmas in order to be crowned queen of Alpinoa. When she finds none of her royal suitors will do, Adelaide decides to create the perfect prince out of a handsome American commoner, Hayden. What’s intended as a formal arrangement turns into something more as Hayden’s kindness and charm begins breaking down her walls. But little do they know… not everyone wants Adelaide to be queen, forcing her to fight for her country, open herself up to love, and come to terms with who she’s meant to be — all in time for Christmas.
For a little extra bonus, we're also feeding your movie queue with some holiday movie recommendations from the Tink team!

    6 Degrees of Cats

    6 Degrees of Cats

Today, Andreea is taking over the mic and we are featuring an episode from the podcast Six Degrees of Cats. It’s a culture, history & science podcast celebrating the many intersections of human and felinekind, hosted by lifelong cat custodian Amanda B. Why were cats gods in ancient Egypt but Satan’s familiar by Europe’s Middle Ages? Why do serial killers and despots hate cats? And how the heck does all of this random cat stuff connect to us in the here and now? Cat worshipper Captain Kitty, a.k.a. Amanda B. investigates these and other hard hitting questions with a diversity of guest experts from across the globe. And now it's back for a second season!

Before we get into that episode, we have an extra special, purr-fect surprise for you – an interview with the creator of the show, Amanda B! Andreea asks Amanda about her motivation for starting the show, her research and creative process, and what's coming up in season two. Great show!

I’ve added a lot of the titles to my queue

FOUND MY PPL!!!

So far, every podcast EP has either been exactly what I wanted to listen to or is already my favourite. And the show is making my runs so much more enjoyable!!! I look forward to tying my laces, pressing play, and running every week. :)

AND because you two asked: The podcast moment when sparks flew and I feel in love with audio storytelling and podcasts was from The Heart’s e4e: Chasing Purple. It was the moment Ari tells the story of the the first time she had sex where she felt like she didn’t leave her body. The sound design, the intimacy, the joy. ugh. ❤️

We are lucky!

Lauren and Adela are two of the most brilliant podcast obsessives out there and I cannot wait to get their recommendations piped right into my ears! I am thrilled that this podcast will soon be out there and we will all get to benefit from Lauren and Adela’s excellent taste and hard work! Woot woot!
