Preaching every week presents several challenges, not least of which is figuring out what to preach that weeks sermon on. Fresh Text is a weekly podcast in which Pastor-scholars discuss a scripture passage and swap sermon starter ideas. This weekly podcast is especially (though not exclusively) useful for preachers who follow Revised Common Lectionary. There is a wide variety of sermons that spawn from this podcast and if you are a preacher, pastor, or just a Christian who loves Jesus, this podcast will help you grow in Christ and become more deeply formed.

Customer Reviews
Excellent Scriptural breakdown and application
If you use the lectionary and want to dive deep into one of the passages each week to really get to the core of what is being said and how to apply, then this podcast is for you. Thanks, John!
A Dialogical Delight
Each episode begins with the reading of a short bible passage which serves as a launching point for a sometimes practical, sometimes theological, and sometimes personal process of exposition and discovery that comes in the form of a dialogue between two or more bible scholars. From the conversation you can tell every guest is doing their dead-level best to live in accordance with the texts being discussed, and the familiarity between the cast always flows very organically. After a well-informed dialogue that usually feels like a mash-up between a town-hall meeting from the TV show Parks & Rec, and a break room full of academics, the cast usually arrives at a few hermeneutical or homiletical insights that can be carried over into personal practice for the audience whether that means preaching from the passage or simply living in a way that builds up the church and brings the gospel to bear into every area of life.
Fantastic insight
Enjoyed the concise manner of the show. Excellent exposition of scripture to let your inner Bible nerd come out. Hooked after first listening
