 Maxey hit a game tying 35 foot 3 point with 8.1 second left in regulation to send Game 5 against the New York Knicks to overtime.  Jalen Brunson missed a final attempt at the buzzer for the Knicks chance to avoid overtime.  Joel Embiid recorded a triple double with 19 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.  The Sixers also saw good performances from Tobias Harris and Kelly Oubre Jr who had 19 and 14 points respectively.  The New York Knicks still lead the best of 7 series 3 - 2 with the series shifting back to Philadelphia for Game 6.  Alec Bohm extended his hitting streak to 15 games.  The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Los Angeles Angels 2-1, winning another series and ending their road trip with a 7-3 record.  The Phillies were the first team in MLB to record 20 wins, and now 21 with the victory today.  The Phillies return home to welcome the San Francisco Giants for the weekend series.

The Philadelphia Flyers are coming off one of their best seasons in a long time. They fell just short of the Playoffs by 4 points on the last day of the regular season to the Washington Capitals. The bad stretch 2 weeks from the end of the season was pretty much the nail in the coffin for the Flyers playoff hopes. This organization is looking to take another step forward in rebuilding. Who has to be the guy that steps up or takes a massive step forward to lead the Flyers to the Playoffs?

The Flyers offense could be getting some unexpected help possibly sooner than later. Alexander Appleyard and Matvei Michkov could wind up in a Flyers uniform much sooner than anticipated. Michkov drafted 7th overall by the Flyers in the 2023 Draft wasn't expected to be over in America until roughly the 2026/2027 season due to his contract with the KHL.

According to Appleyard, the Flyers and the SKA Chairman have a good relationship which could lead to Michkov coming to Philadelphia as early as this offseason. Will Michkov wear the Orange and Black this coming season?

Joel Embiid scored 1 point in the entire 4th quarter as the Philadelphia 76ers lost to the New York Knicks in Game 4, 97 - 92.  Knicks guard Jalen Brunson led all scorers with 47 points and 10 assists in the pivotal Game 4.  The Knicks got the all important split on the road and will return back home looking to end the series in Game 5.  Embiid led the sixers with 27 points, Tyrese Maxey scored 23 points, and Kelly Oubre Jr scored 19 for the Sixers.  The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the San Diego Padres 8 - 6 on Sunday completing the sweep on the weekend.  The Phillies have won 4 games in a row and head up the road to take on the Los Angeles Angels starting Monday.  The NFL Draft was this past weekend and the Philadelphia Eagles had a great draft by selecting cornerbacks Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean with their first two picks.
