    20. Teenage Love – In search of meaning. What’s this life all about?

    20. Teenage Love – In search of meaning. What’s this life all about?

What is the passion of teenage love?

Just as the teenager develops there’s not only a physical change there’s a change in the brain and that lights up the need to feel your role in the world
    The questions start –

What’s the point of all this life?

    What are we doing here?

What is my role in the world?

And how do I feel alive?

These questions don’t end after teenage, however they are alive with the first real fire in the teenage.

In older cultures, the child would go through an initiation to the dawn of their adulthood and leaving behind the child.

Teenage love is the feeling of being alive through experiencing something new that is growing inside you – at one and the same time exciting and nerve-wracking and exhilarating.

Teenage Love can open the doors of consciousness to mystical experiences and feelings of powerlessness at the same time.
How do you make sense of the new self growing inside and capture the joy of life that is starting to open you to more of yourself and how you can be connected with another?

FOR THOSE IN SYDNEY, Starting July 15 2022

    20. The Inspiration of Romance through the Devotion to Life. The Sufi Movement and the Bhakti Movement.

    20. The Inspiration of Romance through the Devotion to Life. The Sufi Movement and the Bhakti Movement.

The history of the Sufi Movement and how it has influenced modern poetry and concepts of romance is better explained by Filip here on Youtube: https://youtu.be/WQirjcT7ENs.

The Short Version of the Sufi tradition is philosophers, mystics, teachers and Saints that originated in Bagdad in the roots of Islam and then later travelled to India to mix with devotees of Hindu and Buddhist traditions and taught that the rules of religion were not the path to god or happiness.

The path of looking at the self and your inner world was the path to a closer relationship with the divine and true love.

They used music, poetry, song, dance, chanting and teachings of the oneness of humanity, brotherhood, kindness and connection of humans to their environment, the stars and the earth.

In Sydney I'll be sharing a Sufi Movement Workshop starting July 15 2022: https://classbento.com.au/sufi-movement-workshop-sydney

Famous Sufi poets and writers such as Rumi have influenced the medieval and renaissance poets and writers such as Shakespeare and modern-day artists such as Beyonce who named her daughter after Rumi.

The romance in the music and the poets of the Sufi go beyond the idea of being romantically inspired by one person.

The romance is with life itself.

One of my favorite poets is Kabir who was not just a Sufi he is also considered a Yogi and Saint who was and is revered by Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims.

Kabir is known as being responsible for the Bhakti movement in India, which is singing and creating poetry full of devotion that inspires romance and deep feelings with the speaker and the listener and brings people to a deep connection to their heart.

Check out some poetry by Kabir: https://www.poetry-chaikhana.com/Poets/K/Kabir/Mybodyisfloo/index.html

My body is flooded by Kabir  (English version by Andrew Harvey) Original Language Hindi

    My body is flooded

    With the flame of Love.

    My soul lives in

    A furnace of bliss.

    Love's fragrance

    Fills my mouth,

    And fans through all things

    With each outbreath.

    19. Love of Humanity – is Humanity worth saving?

    19. Love of Humanity – is Humanity worth saving?

What is the purpose of nations and cultural differences if we just fight each other?

There is a lot of talk about intentions of people to destroy humanity and start carte blanche. Or people that think of creating another option to leave earth and build an alternative on mars.

People see war and conflict of religion, culture and nations and want to just end humanity. Just wipe it out.

This is the exact thought form that will end us.

What is the love of humanity?

It is seeing the full potential of humans to be custodians of this earth and live in balance with all life on it.

Society will only shift to harmony when we see from within a genuine love for humanity and the role we came to fulfill of being a lover of this planet and a leader of living the laws of honoring the gift of life on this planet. And that means honoring the gift of humanity to this planet and to ourselves and to each other

    18. Finding Love through Death

    18. Finding Love through Death

What does it mean to lose someone when they die and how does that changes our relationship to love?

Over the years, I've had many people share with me the strange wonderful sad and miraculous passing over of their loved ones.

Maybe you have a story to share.

I will share the phenomena of seeing things while people are passing over, a bit from my experience and also research on the phenomena of near-death and deathbed experiences of the other side.

Death is actually the biggest reminder of what we do value, how we love those who are close to us and how when the body dies, we are still deeply connected to those we incarnated with.

Maybe you also have some 'contact' with the other realms with loved ones being close to you.

How can this show us that what we deeply desire is a deeper connection to each other - and a deep need to be with those we love and connected to their betterment - even when they are no longer alive.

    17. Natural Love and love of Nature. Are Humans "naturally loving"?

    17. Natural Love and love of Nature. Are Humans "naturally loving"?

What is in our nature that makes us love naturally?

If you have a child, they are naturally loving. Not always accepting or tolerating.

    But always loving.

And then as we age, we lost that natural love of the world and life.

    Why?

Recently I found a beautiful youtube channel where kids in trauma used music and dance to celebrate life and they now make an income from the channel to support their lives. You can see the Masaka Kids here: https://youtu.be/TH4V-yHbJXk

Watching their videos, I feel life and I am happy.

We have lost our connection to nature as a human species, and as a result, we have trauma, we have rising air pollution which is killing us, we have oceans filled with waste that kills other life and we are on a trajectory to the end of the human species because we have become the diseased peoples of the earth.

Today, I'm going to look at natural love and how to reconnect to love in the self as a natural gift, when we connect to nature, and forget about the ideas of what humanity is, and reconnect to our initial role as a species that honored all life, animal, plants, microbes, fungi, bacteria that are our ancestors and the ecosystems of the planet that allow our earth to breathe and the natural kingdom that allows life to be possible at all.

PS I've discovered this really cool Virologist Dr Zach Bush who shares how when we see the bigger picture of all life that allows us to exist on the earth - we can start to approach disease from an enlightened perspective.

Check out Dr Zach Bush out here on the "VIROME" - how viruses are part of our evolution as a mammal and not an enemy, and instead a call to start looking at how we are part of the ecosystem of all life on earth. https://youtu.be/TEb33U0hHxM

    16. Body Love. How do you build safety, trust and acceptance in our body in these times.

    16. Body Love. How do you build safety, trust and acceptance in our body in these times.

I wrote the Body of Love in 2012 to introduce movement-based and self-connection exercises to help people feel love and acceptance in their bodies.

    http://amzn.to/2o28JFB

Now when there is more technology we are losing real connection in our bodies and becoming shaped by technology's impact on our bodies which is obvious from the increase in lack of attention, inability to focus, and general anxiety and sense of disconnectedness.

In this podcast, I share 4 things we need to contemplate to start a better relationship with our bodies in these times.

    1. Learning how to feel inside the body to stop giving our attention to the external way of perceiving the body. And building the skills required to feel deeper inside our body as a solution to the excessive focus on how our society makes us think we should look and looking at the body through the screen images.

    2. How we can't regulate and legislate appropriate ways to respect the body if we don't help people and children to feel internally in their body because this will simply be more of a mind control measure of the body, which doesn't encourage the ability to feel and flow with who we are and who we are becoming.

    3. The power of touch as a way to reclaim your connection to your body and the feelings of love that allow you to feel connection. Touch offers a deep connection that is a supportive and nurturing gift of the body.

    4. How saying that you "love yourself" is not enough to manage the deprivation of human contact and human connection and touch when we are dealing with isolation or disconnection from each other. And how can we build social contact that brings us back into our humanity.

The body is a gift - so let's learn what we can build through loving the gift of our body.
