Matt is the Director of Product Management at Bongo, the leading OTT video service in Bangladesh. Bangladesh's complex networking ecosystem presents quite a few challenges when it comes to delivering a good user experience, in particular for video streaming applications. And when you consider that the vast majority of the users resort to 3G or 4G connections to get the content, the picture gets even more challenging. Matt will guide us through these challenges and how Bongo is tackling them, in particular how one can handle low-end android devices that do not support the latest video codecs. One thing that surprised us is the fact that Bongo resorts to P2P technology to manage the large volume of traffic that stems from main lifestreaming events. Immersive video delivery is very challenging, so a lot of bandwidth is required to reach the end-user, in particular over wireless links since the delay threshold users are willing to tolerate is very low. Victor will guide us through how these demands translate into big technical challenges and share valuable insights on how to tackle them. Victor also shares why he believes 5G is not the free ticket for bandwith utilization that we keep hearing about everywhere. Michael is a Staff Engineer, and we share a big passion for network optimization, so, as you can imagine, it took some effort to keep this episode not too long. 
Michael will guide us through the network optimization he has been working on at Lyft. We touch on a few approaches, but as highlights, I would pick the core concepts of abstracting networking from the application layer and product engineers through things like envoy mobile and deferral requests. The last one is quite interesting as it ensures that the Lyft app is resilient even in the case of no internet connectivity. And how about chaos testing with real users? In particular, and related to Mutable's mission, Pelle shares how can we use existing infrastructure like underutilized server operators, and increase the range of cloud infrastructure we have access to, so we can build applications and provide very low latency and very high bandwidth, which is very important for applications like cloud gaming, AR, VR, and all those kind of scenarios where both latency and bandwidth are very critical.

As you can imagine, this is very challenging because Disney streaming applications are very traffic-intensive, and they need to efficiently cope with very large traffic picks.
