In this interview, I talk to Atlanta data-journalist Sylvia Johnson on Georgia's recent anti-CRT bills. Sylvia wrote about the 5 current bills sitting in the Georgia legislature for my most recent newsletter edition entitled  "Georgia's Anti-Critical Race Theory Bills". We also talk about the role of organizations like The Heritage Foundation have played in drafting Georgia and other states' similar bills.

In this episode of The Neighborhood Watch Podcast, host King Williams talks with Athens, Georgia City Councilmember Mariah Parker. Parker gained virality in June of 2018 after winning a special election, by holding up a fist and swearing on The Autobiography of Malcolm X. Since then Parker has won re-election, in addition to becoming a more well-known politician outside of the borders.

Instead of focusing on that viral moment, the interview is comprised of questions on being a non-traditional candidate, prison abolition, calls to ban educational materials, and a framework for reparations for Linnetown, a small Black section of Athens that was destroyed to expand the campus of the University of Georgia. She is also a battle rapper and we talk about that in the interview as well. She also has released a new single under her rap moniker, Linqua Franqa.  Her first video, 'Wurk' has just been released, which will accompany her latest album Bellringer on April 22nd.

Lastly, is Patrick Henderson of PLH Homes, Patrick is one of the few high-end Black residential home builders in Atlanta, creating million-dollar modern homes. The three of us talk about gentrification, Atlanta real estate, and what's next.

In this interview, host King Williams sits down with a fellow Georgia State University alum, Ben Moore (@BenMoore247 on Twitter). Ben is one of the writers at 247 Sports a CBS Sports affiliated sports blog dedicated to Georgia State University athletics. We talk about Ben's recent article on why Georgia State didn't move up during the most recent round of college football realignment.

College football is big money and Georgia State was rumored to be listed on the list of schools to be potentially moved up from the Sun Belt, the 10th out of 10 of the biggest college athletic conference to potentially the Big 12, the 5th out of 10 biggest college athletic conferences.

In this episode, host King Williams sits down with the Post 2 At-Large Atlanta City Council member Matt Westmoreland. The two speak on the last four years of being an elected official, cop city, perceptions of crime, Buckhead secession, and misconceptions of Matt. 

In this interview, host King Williams talks to Atlanta City Council, District 4 candidate Rogelio Arcilia. The two talk about Rogelio being a member of the growing Latino/x community in Atlanta, being a candidate for change against a 28-year incumbent, what his plans are to address inequality, and what it means to win in a rapidly gentrifying district.
