my favorite job was when i worked at a greenhouse - episode 40
Hey there, listener! In this episode of "i" statement, I talked about my favorite job to this day, despite being employed in my desired field and at a public, research university, at that. I do like what I do now, and the work I do is rewarding. However, I can't deny the fact that my part-time job that I had during the summer before my senior year of high school, the summer before college, and during the early months of the pandemic was the most rewarding, supportive, and shaping job I have ever had. Attitudes around part-time jobs and experiences that are unrelated to your major or desired career path are often downplayed and deemed insignificant, when in reality, they are often are primitive experiences in working with people, dealing with conflict, completing tasks, and managing many things at once. We should be praising these experiences, not dismissing them. Thanks for listening✨

if you're thinking about quitting your job and starting fresh, this is your sign! - episode 38
Hey there, listener! In this episode of "i" statement, I talk about how I quit my teaching job only seven months into my contract, accepted a job offer in a different field, moved out of state, and started fresh. A big change like this - well, two big changes, really - can be extremely daunting, but taking a leap of faith can sometimes offer opportunities that you might not have had otherwise. Leaning into a fresh start is key to accepting and embracing the "new," and having a strong support network doesn't hurt, either. Thanks for listening✨

the "feminine" presentation - episode 37
Hey there, listener! In this episode of "i" statement, I dive into the complexities of the "feminine" presentation and definition as it relates to me individually and how my own identity can ripple into society's definition of "feminine." I address my privilege as a White, cisgender person discussing this topic, but I hope that my own exploration can encourage others to consider their definition of what it means to be "feminine" or to have "feminine" qualities in order to help dismantle systems in place that present inequities and disadvantages for marginalized communities.
