    Friends, welcome to All Things Made New, a podcast exploring the Christian spirituality of being human. In this episode, we talk to Brandon Rhodes.

    Brandon Rhodes has worked at the intersection of faith, neighborhood transportation, and food justice for fifteen years in Portland OR, and the Willamette Valley. He wrote his dissertation at Portland Seminary about how cars changed the church and what to do about it. Lately he has turned his attention to contemplative spirituality, recovering from religious trauma, and detangling authoritarianism from how we read the Bible. He is the director of Coburg Commons a small town hub for the common good built around an indie bookstore.

He is a survivor of addiction, mental illness, and systemic financial abuse including homelessness, and is currently in the process of establishing an online worshiping community called Flipping Tables.

    Megan McDermott- Poetry as Embodiment

    Hello friends. This episode we get to talk to a new friend Megan McDermott.


    Megan McDermott is a poet and Episcopal priest living in Massachusetts. In 2018, she graduated from the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, an interdisciplinary program dedicated to religion and the arts. Her first full-length collection, Jesus Merch: A Catalog in Poems, was published in 2023 with Fernwood Press. She is also the author of two chapbooks, Woman as Communion (Game Over Books) and Prayer Book for Contemporary Dating (Ethel Zine and Micro-Press). Her poems have been published in a variety of journals, including U.S. Catholic, UCity Review, Moist Poetry Journal, Night Heron Barks, and more.
