"16-year old Skylar Neese disappeared from her Star City, West Virginia, home on July 6, 2012. While initially treated as a runaway, investigators soon came to believe something more sinister had happened to her. A break in the case came when six months later Rachel Shoaf admitted that she and another teenager, Shelia Eddy, Skylar's two best friends, had lured Skylar out of her apartment that night, driven her to a remote back road in Pennsylvania and stabbed her to death." via https://skylarneesemurder.com/.

Specious and Shallow: zero stars

This review is based on the Jerry Sandusky episode. I don’t know about the other shows.

The interesting thing regarding the Jerry Sandusky case is all that has come out in the last 10 years. These podcasters feel that the only evidence that matters is what was at a trial that was rushed with no continuances. Using their logic, none of the people freed by DNA evidence, etc. should have been freed. John Grishom’s book “The Innocent Man” illustrates why this is a horrifying position to take.

The show discusses the infamous “shower” episode. But they fail to discuss the depositions by Alan Myers, the boy in the shower, his Letters to the Editor and other support where he categorically denied any abuse. And the fact that Jerry Sandusky was not convicted on this charge may also be relevant information to report. But no mention.

In all fairness, they do disclose their low standards.

The podcasters do say: “if I want to perpetuate a total and obvious fraud, then guess what homie, that is my prerogative.”

They represent all that is wrong with the current generation of “journalists.” There was a time when context was considered everything. This podcast says “what context do you need.”

But they want to perpetuate a witch hunt and they think they have found themselves a witch. But really, all this podcast does is celebrate the prosecution of Boo Radley.
