Embracing chaos and what I learned being alone at the top of a mountain

Embracing chaos and what I learned being alone at the top of a mountain

I’m sharing some updates on my dreamy early morning routine, and then I dive into what happened when I went on my first solo overnight backpacking trip. Well, I wasn’t completely alone because I brought Cauchy with me but I didn’t see another human out on the trail. I talk about a “cheetah in still mode” versus a “cheetah in action mode” and my plans for the rest of the month. If you find yourself in transition and are ready to soften and allow instead of controlling and taking action, then this is right up your alley!

[3:46] Sometimes you have to just ride the waves
[4:00] Sharing my experience going backpacking for the first time alone (just me and Cauchy)
[5:33] I like doing things alone and and comfortable being out by myself and backpacking felt like a new way to push myself outside my comfort zone
[6:20] I had a vision of being out in nature, completely at peace and calm but that’s not what happened
[7:27] I’m still processing everything that came up during that experience
[7:40] I’m proud of myself for doing something I didn’t have to do!
[8:15] When you’re alone there’s no external motivation
[8:40] There were so many moments I want to complain when the hike got hard
[8:51] I recorded videos on my phone to help me acknowledge that it was hard and to help motivate myself.
[9:14] I had a moment where I felt like I should “push through” and I reframed that “push through” energy
[9:55] Taking a break and going slowly was an act of self-love. Taking a break is an act of deep self-care
[11:27] It felt like growth to say “I love myself and I don’t need to compete with anyone else or even a past version of me.”
[11:44] Every day we wake up feeling different and we can honor the energy of each day.
[12:58] I did crave being home and being comfortable again, but I was able to calm myself down again.
    [14:28] This trip softened me.
[14:58] A highlight of the trip was witnessing the sky with the stars and the moon and an outline of the mountain.
[15:32] I thought being out in the dark would be a hurdle to overcome but it’s the moment where I felt the most at peace.
[16:14] I’ve been physically recovering and sitting with all the new facets that revealed themselves.
[17:17] Working for myself, I felt a pressure to create a schedule outside of a traditional 9-5 job so that I wasn’t trying to run errands and compete with the flow of people on that schedule
[17:33] Having an office space and more traditional hours feels exciting and I’m looking forward to being more in the collective energy
[17:47] The office space I’m considering is more in a central location
[20:14] I’ve been defining more what I’m craving in routine and allowing myself to be surprised by what feels right
[20:36] I’m trying to let things unfold naturally
[21:27] I have a lot of fun activities planned for the rest of the month and my intention is to find more time to just be
[22:04] A cheetah in still mode versus cheetah in action mode
[22:30] My Inner Voice is pushing me to embrace these two sides of a cheetah and I’m currently in “still mode”

Navigating transition and what to do when Mercury is in retrograde

Navigating transition and what to do when Mercury is in retrograde

I recorded this episode while Mercury was in retrograde and am using this opportunity to reflect on what’s been working for me in my life and what I can release. I spend some time talking about big life changes, how we’re meant to grow and shift throughout our lives. Life is short and you’re meant to experience all of it: the highs, the lows, all the goodness, and all the discomfort. If you’re in a life transition, then this episode would be a great listen for you.

    Timestamps
[0:32] Mercury is in retrograde as I record!
[0:46] The retrograde is an opportunity to reflect and not the time to take action.
[1:49] I’m taking time to think about the intentions I made during the new moon.
[2:10] I’m feeling open and at peace as I create space to both release and welcome what’s new
[3:17] Life is both short and long. Think about the time when you’re a child and how long every day feels but then when you grow up and look back it feels fast.
[3:57] We’re here to experience all parts of life.
[4:15] when you want to grow and change there’s a lot of discomfort that can come with it
[4:36] What big life shifts can feel like
[5:04] It took me years to fully shift into this new version of myself
[5:49] It’s normal to feel out of sorts and like there’s something wrong with you when navigating change but that’s not true.
[6:40] the in between space can be magical
[6:50] you get to choose who you want to be
[6:58] sometimes you have to reintroduce yourself to the world
[7:23] some people won’t want to grow and change with you
[7:30] Your relationships might change and you get to choose what works for you
[7:51] Remember you have a choice and you don’t have to meet the expectations others have for you.
[8:05] It’s okay to confuse other people
[8:16] You can always pivot if things feel too uncomfortable
[8:31] Relationships are fluid and aren’t meant to stay one way
[8:41] Some things will fall away when they no longer fit. It’s important to grieve these losses.
[9:00] I lost a lot when I closed my jewelry company
[10:02] An exercise to let go
[10:12] That version of myself was dying so I wrote a eulogy for that past version of me to honor her
[10:52] Once I released the old version of myself, I created space to get to know myself all over again
[11:28] We get to have a beautiful experience of getting to know ourselves over and over again
[11:42] You can’t compare an ending to a beginning
[12:13] This time of year is great for new beginnings
[13:30] My intention for the next month is to get to know myself on a deeper level and nurture the seeds I planted
[13:01] I’m committing to starting my morning routine again
[13:33] If you’re interested you can journal with me

Experiencing Generosity

To listen to Kim speak is to experience generosity.

Her ability to reflect on what she is going through and offer it up as a springboard for others is deeply felt.

Kim’s connection to the intuitive forces is such a powerful, yet calming presence in her discussion.

I am looking forward to the episodes that lie ahead!
