    Corruption in the awarding of PPE contracts to friends of British government ministers has widely been reported in the press over the last twelve months – but far less attention has been paid to the significant role played by modern slaved in the production of much of the equipment supplied to the NHS at the height of the pandemic. In this episode, we catch up with Sakeena Rajpal, to discuss her article looking at the role of modern slavery, particularly in the Xinjiang region of China, in contemporary supply chains – and the inadequate legislative tools currently set against it.
