    Let's Talk with Jane Bertch

    Let's Talk with Jane Bertch

So glad that I can call Jane Bertch my friend! Not only does she have a great business that I really enjoy, she also has really enviable, glorious hair. My friend in Paris is so chic. About Jane: When Jane Bertch was seventeen, her mother took her on a graduation trip to Paris. Thrilled to use her high school French, Jane found her halting attempts greeted with withering condescension by every waiter and shopkeeper she encountered. At the end of the trip, she vowed she...

“Caroline” ,

America’s Baker

I just finished listening to Emily’s conversation with Brian Hart Hoffman and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a delightful visit with two good friends. I learned so much about Brian’s mom, Phyllis Hart Hoffman, whom I did have the pleasure of meeting at one of the baking classes in Birmingham. I so admired her dedication to the crafting and culinary traditions of Southern culture. I think of her as the Martha Stewart of the South. It was so interesting to follow Brian’s path to Bake From Scratch. He is the perfect person to carry on his mother’s legacy. I particularly enjoyed the Panna Cotta story.
Thank you two nice people for spending time with me visiting about family and friends as I was sitting at the table addressing my Christmas cards. I felt like both of you were right here with me.
Emily, I know the Banana Bread was delicious.
