Just listened to my first episode of Banking Cultura. Great stuff! I love the way you covered the mixed signals about the word “overwhelming” and how it can be implied as something great for one person’s life changing experience, yet can be used to imply that a person as their natural God-given self can be too much and therefore should be sandwiched in to fit the narrative of other peoples ideas about you. So much more sucky when it’s coming at you from someone who shares it with this “this is really for your best” attitude.
Thank you so much for highlighting this trap. Bc that is all it is. A trap that leads to a back-row seat at the show of your own life, a lesser seat at the boardroom/career table, and a dimmed light on your whole existence as a creative, powerful, dynamic, blessed being.
I want to live and exist beyond anyone else’s image or narrative of whom I should show up as for them. I’m too valuable to do that to myself. This show really hit a cord for me!
Would love to hear a whole show on the statement (hope I say this right) “it’s always busy when everyone comes to the parade”. Wow! I need to learn more in the meaning of this statement.
