Are you a geezer or a beezer? A beezer knows how to be in the moment and looks ahead at any age. We have fun, adventures, laughs, and sometimes great sex. We're curious and open minded. And we know that technology can make our lives better. But what about geezers? Well, they sometimes get stuck. They complain as they watch life pass them by, often from the golf or pickleball court, or that old depressing home that's full of old useless shit.
I, Nancy A. Shenker, am the Geezer Proofer. I've been a C level marketing executive at major brands, an entrepreneur, and tech expert. I'm a writer, speaker, and occasional stand up comic. I'm a mother and a grandmother. I was married for 27 years, I'm now single, and dating for what seems like forever. And yeah, I'm close to 70, but I could pass for 45.
On my podcast, I talk to a bunch of fun, frank, sometimes dirty, and outrageous guests. We all prove that aging is just a state of mind. So think of me as Betty White, Larry David, Irma Bombeck, Tina Turner, and Howard Stern all rolled into one. Lifestyle, relationships, and tech are our jam. Nothing is off limits.

Ep. 34 - My Hot Woman Summer!
This is my first summer as an adult that I've had virtually unlimited freedom. It's full of possibilities and surprises. Before I jet off on the first of my cross-country adventures (flying, not in a van -- although I wouldn't rule that out for next year -- the Summer of '69), I'm offering my perspective on things to do when you're still in great health and you no longer have to show up in an office or take care of kids or aging parents. FREEDOM! PLUS, you can be among the first people to get my NEW list of "100 Ways to Have Fun This Summer: From Wholesome to a Little Naughty and Wild."

Ep. 32 - Polyamory & "Alternative" Lifestyles
A counselor, nurse, and author in Berkeley, California, Kathy Labriola has provided affordable mental health services to alternative communities for 30 years. She has written four books on consensual nonmonogamy, including one called "Polyamorous Elders: Aging in Open Relationships. She describes herself as a "card-carrying bisexual and polyamorist" for 50 years. Extra-crunchy, she lives in a housing co-op, grows organic vegetables, and raises chickens.

Ep. 31 - The 90-Day Dating Rule
That profile is terrific and the first few dates are promising. And then, BOOM! The ick sets in. Casey and I met when we were both going through divorced 10+ years ago and, since then have had many many dates (with other people), relationships (some over a year), and some pretty wild and weird tales. We've discovered that when you're dating, you face those moments when you must decide whether the quirks you see are deal-breakers or issues to work through. Plus, we reveal some of our own pass/fail/work criteria when evaluating potential suitors over 50 (or any age for that matter).

Ep. 30 - The Super Ager
As Bradley Schurman's Amazon book page says, "A demographic futurist explains the coming Super Age—when there will be more people older than sixty-five than those under the age of eighteen—and explores what it could mean for our collective future." That's exactly what Bradley and I talk about! You'll hear answers to questions like: Who is a Super Ager? Why does the media "get it wrong" so often? What's ahead for the aging population? One of today's leading authorities and futurists on aging, Shurman will share his data-based perspective with candor and humor.

Ep. 29 - Show Me the Money, Honey! $$ After 50
Along with sex, food, and religion, money is often a topic of shame and confusion for many people. As we age, we think about our financial situation in a different way from our youth. Michelle Evard-Moses, CFP talks about the role of money in our lives, eliminating the stress surrounding it, and questions we should ask ourselves as we travel beyond 50. (Please consult your own financial advisor for specific recommendations; this is intended just as a discussion of values and best practices.)
