It’s so easy to get buried in the mechanics of doing life that at some point you stop really living it to it’s full potential.  Your days become dictated by all the things you need to do; a long conveyor belt of one demand or responsibility after another.  It might be that one day it suddenly dawns on you that you’re not happy with the way things are – that’s what happened for me.  It might not be everything, but there’s just some things that have been niggling away at you for a while, things that just don’t quite feel right for you.  It might even have got to the point where some of the things you love have lost their sparkle for you too.  Join me for this episode of the Make Time For You podcast as I explore what causes these sorts of feelings to develop, and how you can move away from life feeling heavy, draining or burdensome & get back to living a life you love.   Tune in as I explore the every day things, as well as the bigger things, that might be causing you to feel out of alignment. We dive into topics such as how your identity can shift over time, but how that can cause things to feel uncomfortable, and affect your sense of self-worth, unless you take the steps to adapt with it. We also explore your core subconscious values – your guideposts that may not yet be within your conscious awareness; and delve into the heavy feelings of expectations & obligations.  So tune in for a jam packed episode that is sure to help you shift back into living a life you love and loving the life you live.    If you would like to explore your subconscious values further, make sure to join me for a ‘Value-packed’ masterclass on 11th December…  Unconscious Values Masterclass: Uncover & explore your unconscious values, how fulfilled they currently are & what you need to do to feel more in alignment with them once again.  NB. Ep. 8. - 5 Signs That You Are Overworking

When you are juggling multiple roles & responsibilities in your life, it is so easy to get bogged down & become lost in the thick of it.  Stress & burnout our rife in our modern-day busy society as overworking becomes something that gets glorified, and even expected, more & more. But in reality, it’s not only affecting your health & wellbeing, it is also the very cause of you becoming less able to think clearly, or to be able to problem solve & make decisions on the spot. Overworking is more likely to cause you to feel overwhelmed, frantic or completely drained, & move you further and further away from the driven, engaged & dynamic person you are when you are at your best.  So, the question really is, how can you spot the signs of overworking before you get to the point of burnout? And what can you do to change it? If it were possible to continue being productive, striving towards your aims & targets, so that you can achieve your goals, all whilst still maintaining your energy, drive & a clear head, that would be pretty great, right?! Well then, you better dive on in to this episode of the Make Time For You podcast because that is exactly what I explore.  And let me be clear, when I talk about overworking, I am talking about both your workload and your life-load, because wherever it is that those responsibilities & obligations come from, you are one whole person and they affect you just the same.  Join me for episode 8 of the Make Time For You podcast as I break down 5 signs that you are overworking, and what you can do to get you back on track and maintain your momentum without your health, wellbeing or performance suffering as a result.    Check out the Make Time For You Membership (including a 7 day free trial) here: https://www.patreon.com/maketimeforyou   And if we’re not already connected, why the devil not?!   I’d love to hear from you!   Get in touch at:   LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/joplimmer/  Insta: https://www.instagram.com/woodandthetreescoaching/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/woodandthetreescoaching  Make Time For You @ Work Get in touch to arrange your free workplace talk: jo@wattcoaching.co.uk Make Time For You Newsletter Subscribe here: https://mailchi.mp/wattcoaching/maketimeforyou

    Ep. 7. You're Overthinking It!

Do you ever find yourself wrestling with a relentless inner chatter that just doesn’t stop?! It’s very easy to get to the point where your inner dialogue is consuming all of your time, energy & headspace, and you are left struggling to decide what to have for dinner, let alone anything important! Some days that inner voice might be helpful, supportive and cheering you on – You Got This!  Whereas other days, you find it telling you that you aren’t good enough, questioning your decisions or doubting that you’ve got what it takes to get the job done.  Those cycles and changes don’t just happen by chance. They are the result of the things you are doing day to day. But that also means it is absolutely within your power to change it.  So, join me as I explore what causes you to fall deep into all the worries & what if’s, second guessing and doubting yourself, and what you can do to get yourself out of that place.  I’ll also share my own experiences of the pressures I put on myself to achieve, and how it would often lead me into unhelpful cycles of ruminating thoughts, overthinking & worrying about what others thought of me.  Tune in for personal anecdotes and insightful discussion that will reveal how you can alleviate the mental noise and regain control, so you can continue juggling all those demands on your time with ease and confidence, without tipping over into feeling like you can’t cope. Ep. 3. The Myth of Laziness

Join me for this, potentially controversial, episode of the "Make Time for You" podcast as I tackle the pervasive myth of laziness and explore how societal pressures to be constantly productive impact our well-being.  I uncover the stigmatisation of rest and how it pushes us into a cycle of overwork, triggering the chronic stress response that reduces our efficiency and leads to burnout. Discover the necessity of switching off the stress response to maintain energy and creativity, and how the guilt associated with taking time for self-care is rooted in societal expectations, often formed from childhood. Listen in as I challenge the misconception of laziness through a real-life client story, revealing how misaligned values and overwhelming feelings, rather than inherent laziness, affect motivation. I explore practical steps to boost motivation and tackle overwhelmingly large tasks, emphasizing the importance of self-care and starting small to build momentum.  Additionally, I delve into mastering self-awareness and time management to effectively manage your personal energy and avoid burnout. By regularly assessing and addressing your specific needs, it allows you to pursue your goals and passions without the need for overfilling your schedule or exhausting your brain & body!  Tune in for essential strategies to reclaim your time and energy in a world that often demands more than we can sustainably give.
