Love the podcast! Just wish I didn’t have to hear Corey ask if I’d like a popsicle in the intro.
Shocking comment from Steinbauer episode
29/08/2024
Guys, I never miss an episode of your podcast. I love what you do. I do not always agree and sometimes you really piss me off. The recent Steinbauer episode was probably the most egregious. When Sherie talked about preparing lunch at the start of the episode, she apologized for not including pork, knowing Cory relies on pork as part of his revenue stream. Sherie: “I'm sorry, I didn't include pork in the lunch.” Cory: “That's all right. That doesn't affect me at all. Nope. I don't own the pigs. I just get paid to grow them.” - Doesn’t a vast majority of corn go to feed livestock (1) and generate ethanol (2)? When you include the DDGs from ethanol production, livestock would be the corn farmers’ most important customer. Does the integrator that owns the pigs in your barn buy Iowa corn? Could that corn come from your farm? - The livestock industry, especially the pork industry, has had the worst 24 months of financial stress in history. You would think someone who profits from it would have some concern about supporting its product. On the contrary, driving consumption “doesn’t affect you at all”. What a narrow and disappointing point of view. I wonder if anyone from the company who owns the pigs in your barn follows your podcast? I wonder if they would be as shocked and disappointed as I was?
