Finding Pattersby is a weird fiction mystery about a disgraced ghostwriter who uses his investigation of a legendary, missing thriller author to work through some stuff. Also the ghostwriter’s a liar. Join host Ryan Cervantes as he delves into the underworld of the suspense-thriller book industry and uncover the Truth behind Luke Pattersby’s mysterious disappearance. Part travelogue, part horror story, all tongue-in-cheek mindbender, he’ll face a rogues gallery of eccentric authors, corporate monstrosities, dark academia and cultish readerships as Cervantes’ slice-of-life detective saga threatens to become the type of thriller novel he once wrote. In other words: The following events are fake. The story however...is real. New chapters release last Thursday of every month; bi-weekly updates in between. Finding Pattersby is written, directed and produced by Ryan Sandoval with music and sound design by Erik Jourgensen. This podcast contains mature themes, explicit language, comedic references to body horror, violence, kidnapping, drowning, cult participation and death. I'm intrigued by the mystery, but what I really love about Finding Pattersby is the deviously witty writing. I’m only a few episodes in and this series has already become a ‘top-of-the-queue’ ‘listen-as-soon-as-it-drops’ show for me. The story is accompanied by an excellent synth-driven soundtrack and brought to life by a fantastic cast. Every so often you’ll come across a piece of art that vibrates the same way as you. For me, Finding Pattersby is that art. Our world needs more weird comedies like this one. A strikingly potent debut from a first-time Audio Fiction creator, I can’t wait to hear where this story is headed.

If you listen to only one comedy podcast that mostly takes place in the capital of the Golden State this year, make it this one. But srsly you guys: The jokes in this come fast and furious and I esp liked that actor who played the jerk critic! 😎 Hollywood should take note and make this into a live action series.
