Finding Your Place: Creating Your Place on Campus (Episode 10)

Finding Your Place College Podcast Series

Welcome to the Finding Your Place podcast - a series about the college experience made by college students for college students. In this episode, we bring the title of our series full circle. Producers Ana, Marko and Monte share sounds from their favorite places on campus, while Producer Marko sits down with Maxwell Poessnecker, Associate Director of Student Life and the Director of the first U.S. community college LGBTQ Center. Together, they examine the specific challenges that LGBTQ+ students can face as they try to find security and visibility, as well as the general challenges that all students face as they seek a space where they truly belong. Music composed and performed by Marcus Bagala from his 2018 album, Materials. Used with permission. Please support his work at www.marcusbagala.com. The Finding Your Place Podcast Series has been created with the support of Minnesota State "Shark Tank" grant funding for innovation in higher education. Many thanks also to our colleagues and mentors at Century College, Minnesota State University Mankato, The Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University and Minnesota Public Radio.
