    When I was at my doctor's office for a regular appointment, my doctor noticed I was having a bipolar manic episode and called an ambulance to pick me up and take me to emergency at the hospital. In this episode I talk about how that happened and why it motivated me to talk openly about this mental health disorder. Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition characterized by extreme mood swings, ranging from manic or hypomanic episodes to depressive episodes. These shifts can significantly impact a person’s energy levels, ability to think clearly, and day-to-day functioning.  Bipolar disorder is more common than many people realize, affecting roughly 2.8% of adults in the U.S. each year. Importantly, it’s not just moodiness or “having a bad day.” It’s a complex condition with biological, genetic, and environmental influences.     Surviving Severe Childhood Trauma and Neglect with Gloria Masters

    Gloria Masters comes to us from Auckland New Zealand.  She’s written a book about the first 16 years of her life that was filled with ongoing traumatic sexual, physical, and psychological abuse at the hands of her parents, and many others.  She survived and now shares her life with passion and a heartfelt desire to share her recovery, and the lessons she learned with other survivors. She's a survivor of sex trafficking, and now she's the owner of a successful content agency. Amanda Catarzi has seen it all.
