Taster day for girls at the University of Klagenfurt - Lakeside Labs support the initiativeWomen in technical subjects are still the exception. Although in the last years we can see a rising tendency. The initiative "FIT - Women into Technology" took an important part of this development.
This year the orientation days took place again in the first week of February. The University of Klagenfurt hosted the event on February 1st.
This project aimed to raise awareness among schoolgirls and young women of the opportunities for studying technical subjects at an University. The Center for Women's and Gender Studies are responsible for the content of the FIT project.
Also researchers from Lakeside Labs were part of the event with a workshop. They presented a microcontroller-board which can control a commercially traded mobile phone and a microdrone used for disaster operation in future.
