Savannah For 91 Days: 03 - Tybee Island And Kayaking

Welcome to the third episode of our Savannah For 91 Days podcast series. If you missed the our previous episodes, you can head over here to start from the beginning.

In today's episode, we're taking you to explore Tybee Island, which is generally what people from Savannah mean when they reference "the beach". We returned here a few times, and even went on a kayaking trip where we encountered a special finny friend.

Did you know that Roller Derby was still a thing? And in Savannah, it's pretty popular, so we made sure to catch a match, between the hometown Derby Devils against the Cape Fear Roller Girls. After all these sporting activities, we didn't feel too guilty about visiting Paula Deen's restaurant, Lady and Son!

And one more thing, did know that no liquor, slaves, nor lawyers and Catholics where allowed in Savannah?

Savannah For 91 Days: 01 - First Impressions

Savannah For 91 Days: 01 - First Impressions

Hello! And welcome to the For 91 Days Podcast. We’re Mike and Juergen. In 2010, we embarked on a new kind of lifestyle, traveling the world for 91 days at a time. Every three months, we’ll pack up our bags, and move to a new city, country, or continent. The idea is to travel slow, and really get to know a place before moving on.

Three months gives us enough time to explore every facet of our new homes – from the history, people and landmarks, to the cuisine and culture. And we document everything exhaustively on our blog, For91Days.com, where we’ve published over 2000 articles over the years. Now, we're exploring a new format to tell our travel stories: a podcast. So, put on your headphones, sit back, and let us take you on a journey.

We're starting this series with our time in Savannah, Georgia. We spent 91 days exploring and learning about this jewel of the US south, visiting the most iconic sights, getting to know the famously eccentric locals, and exploring the region. Whether you’ve already visited Savannah, or are thinking about a trip, we think you’ll love hearing about our experiences in this beautiful and historic city.

Articles mentioned in this Episodes, including amazing travel photos:

Awesome travels

These guys go to great lengths to know more about the world and I’m excited to see their adventures come to podcast form. They really get to know the many and off-the-beaten path places that they’ve traveled to and it shows in their strong narrative techniques.
