Ep: 05 The World Needs More Lights With Andru Sisson
This episode I sit down with Andru Sisson, who I have dubbed "The New Age, Black Contemporary Painter". Fresh off the success of his second exhibition in LA, titled "Black Privilege" we get an exclusive, and candid talk about his work, challenges he faces as a Black artist in a predominantly White industry, navigating newfound success and avoiding the pitfalls and perils that come with it.
Lastly, we speak about the role his mother has played in not only his life, but in and through his art. Like Andru, I too, lost my mother to breast cancer and we talk openly about losing a parent, the impact of loss and how it continues to shape us internally and artistically.
Read up on Andru, and check out his past interviews and see his most recent works from Ivory Gold Slaves to Black Privilege here:

An open door to the culture
I Recently just moved to New York, so this podcast has been an open door to the artistic culture in NYC. Still settling in but it's been great hearing creatives share their thoughts and experiences.
