In 2004 Zach threw at the 2004 Olympic Trials, then dove straight back into school, getting his PhD in neurophysiology. He followed that up with a postdoctorate fellowship in bioengineering and now is a professor who is still actively involve in research. Along with that and his roles as a husband and father, Zach has continued to train and is a pro Highland Games athlete.
