Dr. Hammer is a pediatric anesthesiologist and professor at Stanford University. He recently retired to a hilltop in Carmel, CA. 

In his book, Dr. Hammer addresses the spiritual, mental, and physical dimensions of wellness. He advises that burnout can be avoided by harnessing the benefits of mental and spiritual engagement as well as the tripod of sleep, exercise, and nutrition. He offers more valuable tips for happiness during our 25-minute interview.
