To mark the 50th anniversary of the Gay Liberation Movement in Aotearoa Auckland Pride held a symposium with two panel discussions. Chlöe Swarbrick hosts the first panel with queer elders Ngahuia Te Awekotuku and Fiona Clark as they discuss the significance of this milestone and share stories from the first few years of the movement. The second panel focuses on the future with key queer leaders in the community today facilitated by Elyssia Wilson-Heti former Creative Director at Auckland Pride.
The panels were recorded on June 6th 2022 at The Fale Pasifika at The University of Auckland.

The Future of Pride - Catherine Anderson, Tangaroa Paul, Meghan Collins & Cameron Ah Loo-Matamua
As part of Auckland Pride's 50 Anniversary of Gay Liberation Movement symposium this panel discussion brought together some key leaders in the LGBTQIA+ community to look forward and talk about where the movement is currently and where it's going. Hear from Tangaroa Paul, Catherine Anderson, Meghan Collins and Cameron Ah Loo-Matamua as they look to the next 50 years, what is yet to be achieved, and what the future of Pride could look like to them.
