Giving Bikes, Giving Hope: SLO Sheriff Ian Parkinson Shares a 35 Year Tradition

In today’s episode of Up+Adam, Sheriff Ian Parkinson joins us to talk about the annual Sheriff’s Christmas Bicycle Giveaway—a program that has been running for 35 years, bringing joy to children across San Luis Obispo County. Sheriff Parkinson discusses the importance of this initiative, which not only provides bikes to children in need but also gives inmates an opportunity to learn a new trade and give back to their community.

Additionally, we tackle everything from the ongoing fentanyl crisis and its impact on SLO County, to what Thanksgiving and Christmas is like in jail.
