Japanese Leadership

Chairman and CEO of Japan’s Institute of Energy Economics Tatsuya Terazawa and Fred Katayama discuss differences between energy demand in Asia and other regions, as well as the diversity of economic development and energy systems within Asia. They go on to look at Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s plan for an Asian Zero Emission Community, or AZEC, Japan’s leadership in hydrogen power, the reexamination of nuclear energy and the requirement for diverse, resilient energy supplies against the background of current geopolitical friction.
