You can’t spell Game Master without “pretentious.” Well, you can, actually. But let’s pretend you can’t so I can make a point. My point is a good Game Master needs a lot of big, fancy words at their disposal to make their flavor text as confusing as possible. Oops. I mean engaging, not confusing. My New Favorite Podcast

I don't know how I missed this one until now in 2019. The good new is that now that I've found it, there are years of past episodes to catch up on. Many other podcasts that have single narrators can seem awkward, with no feedback during the monolgue, but Fiddleback's dialog keeps my attention by meandering, in an interesting way, to topics that I would not have guessed were related.

Awesome podcast

Awesome podcast. And not just for roleplaying gamers. Anyone who is a fan of history, mythology, word origin, or even science will find something in almost every episode to look forward to.

Content instead of theory

I’ve spent the last month reading the angry gm’s blog. It’s amazing. I find it really helps with the design and theory of your games, but not necessarily the actual content. It tells you how to run your games and why you should run them that way. This podcast is the other side of the coin, although the why is still there it really helps with the what. Should you use the word temple or shrine and why? Stuff like that.
The way it’s presented is a little rambly. They like to jump from topic to topic a lot, but the payoff is always worth it. I recommend listening to the first episode named drow, and if you like it then listen to the second.
