Sermon from Sunday, December 1, 2024 | God With Us | You're Not Great at Receiving | God came not first to show us something, but to give us someone. We do not receive naturally. We would much rather prove we are worth something to someone than be loved despite our doing. And that is exactly the premise of Advent; there is nothing one can do to be born. And there is nothing one can do to be loved except the one thing we are all allergic to -- receiving it.
