Sox fans! Welcome back to Good Guys Talk Back. The search is over. The Chicago White Sox named their 44th manager in franchise history recently. Will Venable is the man in charge and he has his hands full. Venable has been around the game for quite some time, most recently as the bench coach for the Texas Rangers. This is Venable's first managerial gig. There will be some familiar faces back in 2025 but Yoan Moncada will not be one of them. Moncada's time with the Sox has come to an end and where he ranks on the all time bust list will be debated for years. We also talk about the future of Andrew Vaughn as the Sox look to move forward. Sox fans! Our Chicago White Sox finished the year with 121 losses and made history. They showed some fight down the stretch but thankfully the 2024 season is finally over. Hey Sox fans! Our beloved Chicago White Sox are set to make history this week. They hit the 120 loss mark and with six games left... well, it's just a matter of time until they enter the record books. The Athletic came out with a scathing article that helped shed light on how the Sox have managed to become such a laughingstock. Former Sox pitcher, Jake Peavy, weighed in on his time with the club and how he saw things unravel. Ep. 285 - One Hun-D'oh

Sox fans! Our Chicago White Sox did it. They lost their 100th game of the season on Sunday August 25th. The Sox now have back-to-back 100 loss seasons for the first time in franchise history. It's the quickest any MLB team has made it to 100 losses in 108 years. Is Chris Getz capable of being the GM to identify the problem areas, hire the right people and orchestrate the necessary trades to get this team on the correct path? Is Grady Sizemore's relationship with players an important factor in having the interim label removed? Has it really been one year since Hahn and Williams were fired? Episode 210 is likely the best episode of any White Sox related podcast I’ve heard. I learned more about this year’s team in this episode than in the 4 others I listen to combined. Nick and Pat do a great job of not making the show about themselves. Their “fan centric” show is really this.

If you want to hear the same uninformed repetitive whining about how it’s too early to know what’s happening, this is the right place for you. There are several podcasts- some with people actually in Arizona- that actually have figured out what the Sox are trying to do. These guys apparently don’t have any interest in the facts. My advice is listen to a podcast where the podcasters are actually trying to figure out what’s happening. I’m not wasting my time with these guys. 76-year old lifelong Sox fan
