    Hello, and welcome to PlayPods, the new series from the GOSH Learning Academy.  Today, Tuesday the 11th of June 2024, is the first ever International Day of Play. Play can foster empathy, creativity, and resilience. For those children and young people in hospital it is vital for promoting wellbeing, offering a safe outlet for big emotions, a space to feel grounded, and even as a means of understanding and navigating the complicated and scary world of health care.     Medical Student Takeover: A day in the life of... a paediatric general surgeon

    This new podcast features the medical student ambassadors at Great Ormond Street Hospital, along with GOSH's undergraduate lead and NICU consultant, Dr Cristine Sortica Da Costa. In each episode they will be focussing on a different specialty within paediatrics, and interviewing a consultant in that specialty about their daily routine, their personal career pathway, the highlights of their job, as well as their advice to medical students and junior doctors interested in a future career in paediatrics.
