Joy in the Midst of Suffering
How do we have joy in the midst of suffering? In this sermon from 1 Peter 1:6-9, we see that when experiencing suffering, we must remember that it is temporary, that it has a purpose, and that it draws us closer to Jesus. Ultimately, it is not our circumstances that bring us true joy, but by believing in him, we can “rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory.” From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.
Rejoicing in All We Have Been Given
In this passage from 1 Peter, suffering believers are reminded to rejoice in all that they have been given. In spite of hard times and difficult circumstances, we can rejoice in our living hope, our eternal inheritance, and our secured salvation. Our hope is not in this world, but in our God, whose covenant faithfulness and love will never end. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.
In this first sermon from our series in 1 Peter, we look at the rich truths found in Peter’s opening greeting. He reminds his readers of their identity as elect exiles, who were chosen by the foreknowledge of God, and who are strangers and pilgrims on the earth. He assures them that they are sanctified by the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ, and concludes with a prayer for grace and peace. As believers, are we walking in these truths in our own lives? From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.
A Life Worth Imitating
In this final sermon from our Acts series, we see in Paul a life worth imitating. Paul had a heart for people and a passion for the gospel. He lived a life of service, sacrifice, and hospitality, proclaiming the truth with boldness. God is still at work through his Word and the church. Will we be faithful servants, willing to sacrifice for, serve, and share the gospel with others? From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.
God's Provision in Crisis
When facing difficult times, it's important that we focus on the promises and character of God. In this sermon from Acts 28, we see that in any crisis, we should look for God’s grace, kindness, power, provision, and encouragement. Our hope should not be in this world, but in the great God who loves us, and who has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.
Dealing With Dark Days
In this life, we will experience sunny days as well as dark days. In Acts 27, Paul is experiencing a dark time full of trials, yet he lives by faith and is an example to those around him. Even in the midst of brokenness and sin, we can have hope. Even in the darkest of times, we can live by faith, knowing that God is good and is always in control. From our Sunday service at Grace Bible Church of Bend.
